Here are some photos from the June 18, 2014, Construction Meeting.
Here's BLT Coordinator Andy W5ACM and Payload Master Tom K5SAF. Time to check out the main payload!
Nice! The previous Main Payload looks really great. Well, Payload Master Tom K5SAF HAS been working on it... EXCELLENT!.
Smile! You're on BLT Camera!
It didn't take much to take the dents out of the 910 MHz ATV antenna. Tom checked it out, did a few tweaks, and got the SWR down to 1.2 to 1.
OK! I am liking this. Time for a SMOKE test and check out the main payload's APRS system. Chief Balloon Handler John WA5WOD watches...
This is the Standard trasnceiver that will be APRS beacon W5ACM-9. Looks Good and Works Good! How old is this thing anyway??
Hmmm... Oh yes... FM TV just doesn't look right on an AM receiver, but it was interesting.
Payload Coordinator Mike WA5TWT gets us rigged up with a complete FM receive system. Notice that the image of the Secret BLT Lab in Sugar Land is in Black and White. The Hi-Res camera defaults to Black and White whenever the light levels get too low for quality color. It took us a while to figure this out.
We're DONE for tonight! Good stuff for sure. Thanks to John AB5SS for the extra photos. May there be many more!
Launch happens at 10AM on August 9, 2014, from the Wharton Intergalactic Spaceport!!! We'll be THERE!!!
